Shipping a car can feel like a big step. You hand your keys to someone else, and your vehicle travels hundreds or thousands of miles without you. Our job is to make that step feel simple. We explain how it works, we keep you informed, and we answer the phone when you have a question.
What can we ship for you?
Day to Day Auto Transport offers three services. Most customers need the first one. The other two are for vehicles that need extra protection or special handling.

Open Carrier Auto Transport
The most common and most affordable way to ship a car. Your vehicle rides strapped down on a multi-car open trailer.

Enclosed Auto Transport
Extra protection from weather and road debris. A good fit for classic, luxury and new cars.

Motorcycle Transport
Cruisers, sport bikes and custom builds, secured with wheel chocks and tie-down straps. Open or enclosed.
Why do people choose an auto transport company instead of driving?
Driving a car from Miami to the Midwest or the Northeast takes days. There is fuel, hotels, meals and time off work, plus the miles and wear on the car. Shipping lets you fly or drive one vehicle while the other one travels on a carrier.
- Moving to or from Florida. Ship the car and focus on the move itself.
- Snowbird season. Send your car north in the spring and back to Miami in the fall.
- Buying a car out of state. Have it shipped to you instead of making a long trip to get it.
- Selling a car to a buyer in another state. The buyer gets the car without driving it home.
- A classic or luxury car. Keep the miles off and ship it in an enclosed trailer.
Open or enclosed: which one do you need?
Most everyday cars ship on an open carrier. Choose an enclosed carrier when the car needs extra protection. Here is the quick comparison.
| Open carrier | Enclosed carrier | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Daily drivers, SUVs, pickups, minivans | Classic, luxury, new or low cars |
| Protection | Strapped down, open to weather and road dust | Fully covered trailer, protected from weather and debris |
| Price | Lower | Higher |
| Availability | Most car carriers on the road | Fewer trucks, so book earlier |

How does auto transport work?
- Call for a quote. Tell us the vehicle, the pickup and delivery cities, open or enclosed, and when you would like it picked up.
- Set the pickup. We agree on a pickup date and a place with you. Large car carriers need room, so on narrow streets the driver may ask to meet at a nearby open lot.
- Your vehicle ships. The driver checks the car with you, loads it and straps it down. Call us if you would like an update along the way.
- Delivery. Check the car with the driver at the destination and sign. That’s it.
How do I get my car ready to ship?
A few minutes of preparation makes pickup day smooth.
- Wash the car so marks are easy to see, then take clear, dated photos of every side.
- Remove personal items, loose parts and toll transponders such as your SunPass.
- Leave about a quarter tank of gas. A full tank only adds weight.
- Fold in the mirrors and remove or secure anything that could come loose, like a bike rack.
- Tell us about leaks, a low front spoiler, or anything that does not work, so the right trailer is sent.
- Hand over one set of keys at pickup.
What affects the price of shipping a car?
We don’t list prices online, because every trip is different. These are the things that change the price the most:
- Distance and route. Longer trips cost more in total, and busy routes are usually easier to fill.
- Open or enclosed carrier. Enclosed transport costs more.
- Vehicle size and weight. A full-size pickup takes more room than a compact car.
- Running or not running. A car that does not drive needs extra handling to load.
- Season. Snowbird months in fall and spring are busier on Florida routes.
Call (305) 506-8675 and we will quote your exact trip. You can also read our guide to car shipping cost.

What should you check when choosing an auto transport company?
Whoever you choose, a few simple checks help you avoid surprises:
- Ask what is included in the quote, and whether the price can change before pickup.
- Ask if the carrier is open or enclosed, and get it in writing.
- Ask what happens on pickup day: the inspection, the paperwork and how you will be contacted.
- Read the inspection report at pickup and at delivery before you sign.
- Keep your own photos of the car from before pickup.
We are happy to answer every one of these questions on the phone before you book.
What happens on pickup day?
Pickup day is simple when you know what to expect. The driver usually calls ahead when the truck is getting close. Together you walk around the car and note any existing scratches, dents or chips on the inspection report. This report is important: it is the record of the car’s condition at pickup, and you will compare it with the car at delivery.
Then the driver loads the car and straps it down. You hand over one set of keys, keep your copy of the report, and the car is on its way. It usually does not take long.
Shipping a car into Miami
We also bring cars to Miami from other states. If you are moving here, buying a car up north, or sending a car down for the winter, the steps are the same. Large carriers need room to unload, so on narrow streets in Brickell, Miami Beach or the Grove, the driver may ask to meet you at a nearby open lot. Have the car’s paperwork and your copy of the pickup report ready at delivery.
Who do we ship for?
- Families moving to or from South Florida
- Snowbirds who winter in Miami and summer up north
- Buyers who found a car online in another state
- Sellers who sold a car to a buyer out of state
- Students and their families at the start or end of a school year
- Classic and luxury car owners who want enclosed transport
Frequently asked questions
Do you ship cars out of Miami to other states?
Yes. Day to Day Auto Transport ships cars and motorcycles from Miami to locations across the U.S., and into Miami from other states.
Is open or enclosed transport better?
Open transport is the most common and most affordable choice for everyday cars. Enclosed transport costs more and adds protection for classic, luxury or new cars.
Can you ship a motorcycle?
Yes. Motorcycles are secured with wheel chocks and tie-down straps, on an open or enclosed carrier. See motorcycle transport.
How do I get a quote?
Call (305) 506-8675 with the vehicle, the pickup and delivery cities, and the carrier type you want.
Can I leave personal items in the car?
Please remove them. Personal items are not part of the shipment, and they add weight.
Can you ship a car that does not run?
Tell us when you call. A non-running car needs extra handling to load, and that can change the price and the truck we send.
Do I need to visit your office?
No. Vehicles are picked up and delivered, so there is no need to visit the office.
